CHINA PRODUCED 3.8 BILLION TONS OF STEEL FROM 2011 TO 2015

China produced 3.8 billion tons of steel from 2011 to 2015, fueling GDP to grow 65% and fixed assets investment to grow 128%, according to a report by the China Iron and Steel Association .
China produced 804 million tons of crude steel in 2015, down 19.18 million tons or 2.33% year on year; its long product output was down 3.6%, pipe product output up 10.98% and strip and plate product output up 2.5%.
The country exported 112 million tons of steel products last year, up 19.9% year on year; the imports were 12.78 million tons, down 11.4%.
China imported 953 million tons of iron ore last year, up 2.2% year on year. The imports from Australiawere up 10.76% year on year to 607 million tons, from Brazil up 12.1% to 192 million tons and from South Africa up 4.06% to 45.38 million tons.
The country's apparent consumption of crude steel was 704 million tons last year, representing 43.2% of the total worldwide.
