FERROUS SCRAP JUMPS 9.8% IN THE U.S., TO US$ 224

Ferrous scrap price jumped 9.8% this week in the U.S., to US$ 224 per long tonne.

The price also went up in Turkey (+2.2%) and Taiwan (+4.8%) and remained stable in India.

The average prices and variation in the period were, according to TSI:


- Turkish imports HMS #1&2 80/20 scrap, CFR Turkish port: US$ 234 /metric tonne (+2.2%)

- US domestic obsolete shredded scrap, delivered US mill: US$ 224 /long ton (+9.8%)

- Taiwanese imports HMS #1&2 80/20 scrap, CFR Taiwan port: US$ 219 /metric tonne (+4.8%)

- Indian imports obsolete shredded scrap, CFR Nhava Sheva port: US$ 223 /metric tonne (0.0%)
