SCRAP PRICES GO UP 8.2% IN THE U.S., TO US$ 184
The ferrous scrap had an impressive increase of prices in the U.S. this week, going up 8.2%.
The product also went up in the other main international markets: Turkey (+1.1%), Taiwan (+0.6%) and India (+0.5).
The average prices and variation for the period, according to TSI, were:
- Turkish imports HMS #1&2 80/20 scrap, CFR Turkish port: US$ 188 /metric tonne (+1.1%)
- US domestic obsolete shredded scrap, delivered US mill: US$ 184 /long ton (+8.2%)
- Taiwanese imports HMS #1&2 80/20 scrap, CFR Taiwan port: US$ 155 /metric tonne (+0.6%)- Indian imports obsolete shredded scrap, CFR Nhava Sheva port: US$ 205 /metric tonne (+0.5%)
