POTENTIAL BUYERS EMERGE FOR TATA STEEL'S PORT TALBOT

A number of potential bidders have emerged for Tata Steel's Port Talbot plant while business secretary Sajid Javid has said the UK Government would do everything within its power to save jobs at the site.
Liberty House, which last year reopened the Liberty steelworks in Newport, and German giant ThyssenKrupp were both linked with bids for the Port Talbot facility over the weekend.
Both are said to require UK Government support including the restructuring of the pension scheme.
Sky News has also reported that US investor Wilbur Ross, who has a history of turning around struggling companies in industries including steel, coal and financial services, could be approached over the next few days.
