NIPPON STEEL WILL BECOME THE NEW MAJOR JAPAN STEEL PRODUCER TO REPORT TUMBLING EARNINGS

Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal will become another major Japanese steel producer to report tumbling earnings for fiscal 2015 as slowdowns in China and among domestic customers eroded demand, weighing on prices.
Nippon Steel's group pretax profit for the fiscal year ended in March apparently fell by half to between 200 billion yen and 210 billion yen ($1.8 billion to $1.89 billion), while sales likely slid 13% to roughly 4.9 trillion yen. The company is slated to release results Thursday.
