SCRAP GOES DOWN IN THE U.S. BUT IS UP IN TURKEY

Price of ferrous scrap had a sharp decline last week in the U.S. but went up in Turkey, according to TSI.

The average prices and variation were:


- Turkish imports HMS #1&2 80/20 scrap, CFR Turkish port: US$ 193 /metric tonne (+5.5%)

- US domestic obsolete shredded scrap, delivered US mill: US$ 167 /long ton (-7.7%)

- Taiwanese imports HMS #1&2 80/20 scrap, CFR Taiwan port: US$ 140 /metric tonne (+1.4%)

- Indian imports obsolete shredded scrap, CFR Nhava Sheva port: US$ 200 /metric tonne (+5.8%)
