THYSSENKRUPP LAUNCHS "ONE STEEL" PROGRAMME TO INCREASE COMPETITIVENESS

German industrial group ThyssenKrupp has launched its "One Steel" strategic programme to secure the long-term competitiveness of its steel division, the company said on Friday December 4. 

ThyssenKrupp has focused strongly on cost-reduction measures in recent years that have helped the company to achieve better results, it said.

Under the new programme, intended to take five years, the company will bundle together strategic initiatives which will be manage and implemented systematically over that period.

"The aim of One Steel is for us to continually earn more than our cost of capital," Andreas Goss, ceo of ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe, said.
