MINORITY SHAREHOLDERS OF USIMINAS SHOULD AGAIN HAVE A REPRESENTATIVE IN USIMINAS

Minority shareholders of Usiminas should again have a representative as chairman of the steelmaker in the 2016-2018 period. It would be the same situation occurred in April last year, in a decision taken during an extraordinary election.

In the proposal to convene the annual general meeting, scheduled for April 18, the steelmaker's controlling shareholders —Nippon Steel & Sumitomo and Ternium-Techint — did not appoint a consensual name for chairman.

According to the document, the choice so far is Marcelo Gasparino da Silva, the current chairman, elected a year ago. His name is backed by Geração Futuro L. Par. Fundo de Investimentos em Ações, which belongs to businessman and also board member Lirio Parisotto.

In a material fact, Usiminas reported that until Wednesday, no other name had emerged for the chairman post.
