The world's largest diversified miner, BHP Billiton, has produced a record amount of iron ore during the September quarter following the ramp-up of its Jimblebar mine in the Pilbara.
The company produced 67 million tonnes of ore in the three months to September, up 8 per cent on the same period during 2014.
BHP attributed the increased output to the ramp-up of operations at its Jimblebar mining hub, along with productivity improvements at Newman and port facilities.
