VALE CRITICIZES FINE OF US$ 44 BILLION FOR SAMARCO ACCIDENT AND SAYS THAT COMPARISON WITH BP IS NOT SUITABLE

Vale said that there is no reason for the fine of 155 billion (US$ 44 billion) established by the Brazilian government due to the accident in Brazil last November in Samarco.

Vale also said that the value was defined compared with the fine to British Petroleum, that had an accident in the Gulf of Mexico in 2010 and that this comparison is not suitable.
