WALES EXPORTED 1 BILLION POUNDS IN STEEL LAST YEAR

Figures from HM Revenue and Customs reveal just how important Welsh steel is to the British economy.

The UK exported £4.7bn worth of iron and steel last year. Wales accounted for £1bn of that figure - making steel far more important to the Welsh economy per head than the other three countries in the UK.
