Mexico's steel chamber Canacero and the Mexican government have created a working group to prevent and detect fraud and seek fair conditions in foreign trade, Canacero said.
At the meeting between the two Canacero and the government, "it became clear that working with the industry can identify areas of opportunity and risk to combat irregularities in foreign trade, such as undervaluation, triangulation, misuse of customs procedures, among others, that led to the creation of a group of permanent work between the government and the steel industry," Canacero said late Sunday.
The group set the basis for a future partnership in trade practices that include verification of origin, analysis of trends in imports with countervailing duty and the possible introduction of control measures in the sector down.
